The Commandant’s Trophy was established to recognize superior academic performance, physical ability, and exceptional leadership skills while at Marine Corps Officer Candidates School.

In the Fall of 2022, Candidate Hardin was selected for the Platoon Leadership Class (PLC), an undergraduate commissioning program which allows full-time college students to pursue a commissioning in the Marine Corps without interrupting the academic school year. He attended Officer Candidates School (OCS) in Quantico, Virginia after his junior year for 10 weeks. During OCS, he distinguished himself and ultimately was able to set himself apart finishing at the top of the PLC, earning the 2023 Commandant’s Trophy. Candidate Hardin will be commissioning as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Marine Corps following graduation in May.

In addition to a certificate Candidate Hardin will be receiving, Purdue University will also be receiving recognition for their outstanding preparation of students. Congratulations, Alexander!
